If you came in 2025 you'll know that we've managed to create a serious problem for ourselves.
We celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of Sally B on the Airshow circuit by having 50 aircraft in the lineup and our Guest of Honour was, as always, Elly Sallingboe BEM her superhuman operator. Spoiler alert, we have one easy decision every year; if Elly is joining us then she's the Guest of Honour. We believe that Elly will be with us once more, so sorry Tom Cruise - you probably won't be the big name in lights in 2026 but admission tickets are available on our website.
On Sunday 7th December 2025, we'll start the process of revealing the twenty acts we've got coming on the 25th and 26th July 2026. We have more than one difficulty - in 2025 nearly half of the acts made their debut at Old Buckenham, an unprecedented feat for a major airshow. There simply aren't enough acts in the UK for us to be able to repeat that sheer number, but early signs are that we might come close.
We're also making some changes based on feedback from over 1000 visitors we sent people to talk to in 2025 - the largest such effort yet and many thanks to all who answered our surveyors questions. Thanks to your views, and some very interesting suggestions, we're changing the area around the Blister Hangar. After more than a decade 2025 was the last in which we'll have a funfair; we've listened to you and so we're giving the space over to some new and exciting attractions befitting the Airfield, and Airshow's American roots.
What this meant is that the first Airshow Act announced, last month, will operate no higher than 6' and on a stage - Sunday 26th July will see the Blister given over to 90 Minutes of Nashville, courtesy of the renowned Cedar Creek; more musical acts will follow but, rest assured, it's first and foremost an Airshow so we won't have 50 bands.
We will have up to 50 aircraft though so on Sunday 7th at 1900, we'll start announcing which aviation icons will be in the sky, along with one of our two themes for the year.
Stay tuned.
