This year is different and a little bit busy; we've some milestones to celebrate.
We’ll start each day with the Platinum Jubilee and Her Majesty’s Royal Air Force, represented in truly spectacular style by the Falcons Parachute Display Team.
The images only convey some of the precise and stunning manoeuvres the team undertake in mid air having jumped from 10,000’ odd (and a perfectly serviceable aircraft). You don’t just have to be brave to do this, Falcon Team members also have to quite simply be the best of the best.
The Falcons are drawn from the Airborne Delivery Wing based at RAF Brize Norton. Each day at the Airshow they’ll not only be fulfilling their role of amazing and inspiring everyone, but they will also deliver something - the Union Jack.
On landing their leader will salute a very special dignitary and the Union Flag will then be conveyed by the 1986 Wymondham Squadron of the Air Cadets to the centre of the Airshow, where it’ll be ceremonially raised, the National Anthem will be sung and a truly unique Airshow begins.

We are honoured and delighted to be able to confirm that the Falcons' salute will be taken by Bruno Peek, LVO, OBE, OPR; Her Majesty's Pageant Master. Bruno is currently engaged in the Herculean task of organising over 1500 beacons to be lit in commemoration of the Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. His role on behalf of Her Majesty has seen him be an integral part of every Jubilee celebration; we can think of no-one finer, apart perhaps from The Queen herself, to be part of our commemorations of the longest reign in British History.
